Ormond Beach, a block and a half walk away, is nice and quiet.  It is great for swimming, boogie boarding, fishing, or strolling along the beach in the warm sand. 

Daytona Beach is a ten minute drive, with its nightlife, shopping, and
Daytona International Speedway.  You can even drive your car on this world famous beach.

Orlando attractions (Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World and more) are just an hour and fifteen minute drive away.

St. Augustine (the oldest city in the U.S.A) is one hour to the north; and Cape Canaveral is an hour and a half to the south.

There are several annual events that take place in the area, including the Daytona 500, the Pepsi 400, Biketoberfest and Bike Week.  And if Harley's are your thing, the world's largest Harley dealer is in Daytona Beach.

Hibiscus House is right between the river and the ocean - walk a block and a half either direction and you are at the water.
